Van Kempen & Begeer: Craftmanship with a rich history
The rich history of van Kempen & Begeer began in 1789, in an unassuming gold & silversmith’s workshop in Utrecht. The original silver designs set themselves apart from the run-of-the-mill silverwork available at the time by incorporating a ‘purer’ style into the design. This led to the company being invited to the first World Exhibition in 1851, giving the silversmith worldwide renown.
Over the years, van Kempen & Begeer has become one of the most innovative producers of sterling silver in the Netherlands and beyond. It is known for its special techniques and extraordinary craftsmanship. The company understands better than anyone that the difference lies in the details, and showcases a particularly innovative approach in its unique designs.
In 1858, van Kempen & Begeer received the designation ‘Royal’ and incorporated the Dutch crown in its logo. Today the crown is not only a quality mark but also the symbol of a stylish cooking and dining culture.
